Discover how to organize your teacher view with Trelson’s Topics and Tags!

As a teacher, you’re likely constantly juggling multiple assignments, assessments, and class materials. But what if there was a way to effortlessly keep everything organized and easily accessible in Trelson? Well, there is!

In this article, we’ll show you how to leverage Trelson’s Topics and Tags to organize your teacher view, so you can focus on what truly matters – your students.

Create Folders Using Topics

Topics in Trelson function similarly to those in Google Classroom, allowing you to arrange your assignments by subject or class. Assignments with an assigned topic will be stored in a folder, accessible in the menu on the left hand side of your teacher view.

Create a Topic:
- Click the +Create button. Select Topic from the dropdown menu.
- Name your new topic (e.g., “Math”, “Science”, “Class 9A”).
Assign a Topic:
- Locate the assignment in your list of exams. Click the three dots next to the assignment.
- Select Change topic and choose the appropriate topic.
Filter by Topic:
- Navigate to the left-hand menu. Click on the desired topic to filter assignments accordingly.

Categorize with Tags

Tags offer a flexible method to quickly locate the correct assignment, enabling multiple tags per exam for to be used for filtering and sorting. A suggestion is to use these tags to sort between class ID, grade level, or any other relevant category.

Create a Tag:
- Click the +Create button. Select Tags and add new tags or manage existing ones.
Assign Tags:
- Find the assignment in your exams list. Click the three dots next to the assignment and choose Change tags.
- Add relevant tags, which will appear as rounded icons on top right of the assignment.
Filter by Tags:
- Click Filter tags at the top right of your exams list.
- Select the tags to filter by and view only relevant assignments.

Tidy Up Your Teacher View by Archiving

To keep your workspace tidy, we recommend you archive assignments you no longer need to manage actively. Archived assignments move to a dedicated folder, helping you maintain a clear and focused active list. Archived assignments can be accessed later if needed.

Archive an assignment:
- Locate the assignment in your exams list.
- Click the three dots next to the assignment and select Archive.
- Alternatively, select multiple assignments using checkboxes and archive them in one go.
Locate archived assignments:
- Navigate to the menu on the left hand side. Click on Archive, to access your archived assignments.
- To unarchive an assignment, click on the three dots on the right hand side of the assignment and choose Restore assignment.

Remember, the assignment can only be archived if the deadline has passed.
